Group Report For Dawn Patrol On-Line – Oct 2023 – Online Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous

Group Report for Dawn Patrol On-Line - Oct 2023

OIAA Group Report

Group Name: Dawn Patrol Online and Dawn Patrol Eighth Meeting

Intergroup Representative: Mike T. Date: 30 September 2023

Group Information: Dawn Patrol Online (7 am EST daily) and Dawn Patrol Eighth Meeting (6 pm EST
Wed) are meetings that arose during Covid when the venue for homegroup closed. The Daily Dawn
Patrol Online is now an online only group based from Newark, Delaware. We offer a literature-based,
open meetings welcoming both men and women. Online is organized a Business Meeting for the Online
Group of Dawn Patrol Online. The group has an elected chair, secretary, treasurer and OIAA IG Rep.
Currently we share GSR with the in-person Dawn Patrol group, but are seeking a new GSR for the online
group (representing the newly formed on-line District 14, in Area 12). The Business Meetings are held on
the first Sunday of each month. Online meetings consist largely but not exclusively of beginners and
passersby. It has a membership of approximately twenty, with 15-30 people attending daily.
Increasingly, online is a group of regulars, from all over the world, who are no longer strangers.

Actions – Challenges and Successes –
Success:
On September 16, 2023, there was an OIAA Assembly. The minutes for both June & July were reviewed
and accepted with 100% approval. The Treasurer voted against having an external audit due to the cost
($15K), however the was a request for volunteers to do outside review (folks that do not deal with
finances daily). Jennifer (the Treasurer) provided the treasurer report and OIAA had $8751.84 in
contributions with Operating Income of $6076.11. The Current Assets are $98970.96 with $4916.64 set
aside for the 2025 International Conference. The Financial Report can be viewed on the OIAA Website.
There will be an upcoming Intergroup Rep forum next month on Oct 28th. There have been numerous
updates to the OIAA website and there are now YouTube video’s to with instructions on navigating the
OIAA website.
The OIAA Chair & Vice Chair will be attending the ICOAA. ICOAA is the bridge of OIAA’s relationship with
GSO.
For those interested there are two (2) New Trustee Service positions available;
• International Trustee, and
• Trustee at Large.
Descriptions of the positions can be found on the OIAA website. For those interested please submit a
Service Resume by Nov 1, 2023.
Challenge:
The Group has members assisting with Security, but the group is still in need of a Security Chairperson,
and a backup IGR would be good however these are two positions that remain open. We still need a GSR
for the group along with needing a Literature and Coin person. These are some of the most recent
challenges the group has encountered is the need of a new Security Chair Person. Additionally, it would
be good if the group had an alternate IGR to attend /participate in OIAA meetings and assemblies. The
group is still looking for a new GSR for the group, along with a Literature and Coin person. We continue
to move forward, and people are assisting on somewhat of a rotational basis.

Challenge:
OIAA continues to have multiple Service Opportunities which are being announced at on-line meetings.
The opportunities are vast as this the online community continues to grow and is ever expanding.
Anyone interested in serving with the online AA community is encouraged to reach out to either Mike T
or Susan R.

Learning: “Zoom babies” continue with their success of staying sober one day at a time and celebrating
their sobriety. There has been an increase in group members attending Tradition study after the Sunday
Morning Big Book Meeting for those interested in service positions. They are learning to be responsible.
They have contributed to the group with their service and are rotating out. We continue to have
participation with new members that continue to get involved in service positions to help the group in
carrying the load of Zoom meetings.

Respectfully submitted, Mike T., Dawn Patrol Online and Dawn Patrol Online Meeting
