Mission and Purpose: 

PAC assists new groups in registering to list A.A. meetings/groups on the OIAA meeting directory:

Reviews all new meeting submission forms for compliance in form completion, directory listing guideline compliance.

PAC assists new member groups to list Intergroup representatives at time of registration.

PAC assists meetings/groups regain their status to be relisted within the OIAA meeting directory or as Intergroup representatives if they have lapsed.

PAC assists to resolve complaints and answer questions regarding OIAA directory listed meeting/groups that have been reported.

PAC offers OIAA policy/guideline advisories to any interested parties.

  • Responsibilities for each position

PAC Chair Duties

  • Leads in providing, supporting, maintaining new meeting form process from beginning to end of all OIAA meeting directory listings.
  • Leads in providing solutions to complaints of OIAA listed meetings/groups
  • Liaises/works closely with committee members, Board, Technology Chair/committee and Listkeeper
  • Oversees and reviews changes to new meeting submission forms regarding changes that includes updating and relevance.
  • Replies to concerns and complaints of member groups and public at large.

PAC Alt Chair Duties

  • Steps in with above duties if Chair is unavailable.
  • Processes assigned new meeting listings to completion.
  • Registers with Listkeeper new IGR’s
  • Replies to concerns and complaints of member groups and public at large.

PAC Committee Members Duties

  • Processes assigned new meeting listings to completion.
  • Registers with Listkeeper new IGR’s
  • Replies to concerns and complaints of member groups and public at large.

Qualifications for each position

PAC Chair

  • 2 or more years of sobriety.
  • To be online daily
  • Familiar and working knowledge of OIAA guidelines, Bylaws, AA Steps, Traditions and Concepts
  • No special computer skills required

PAC alt. Chair

  • Familiar and working knowledge of OIAA guidelines, Bylaws, AA Steps, Traditions and Concepts
  • No special computer skills required

Committee members

  • Familiar and working knowledge of OIAA guidelines, Bylaws, AA Steps, Traditions and Concepts
  • No special computer skills required

What we do/Tasks:

Act as a first link assisting members to list meetings/groups to the OIAA meeting directory.

Review each new meeting submission form for compliance of OIAA meeting guidelines, Traditions and that requested information is correct.

Make corrections offer suggestions to help meetings/groups be successful and safety understanding for directory listing.

Liaise with Tech team for listing and trouble shoot if issues arise.

Notify new meeting contacts of listed directory meetings

Notify Listkeeper of new meeting IGR/alt. IGR information.

Reply to members who have concerns or complaints regarding OIAA directory listed meetings.

Offer OIAA policy/guideline advisories to any interested parties.

Instructions:

The scope of the responsibility and authority of each committee is outlined in a committee charter to be reviewed every two years or as necessary.  While each committee can have different roles, many will have similar roles. For example, each committee will most likely have a committee Chair and a Secretary with similar responsibilities and qualifications. Each committee will have certain roles unique to the mission it has to discharge.

OIAA’s Bylaws Article 5 provides additional committee detail including definitions pertaining to their duration, creation of, dissolution of, record maintenance and reporting requirements.
