OIAA September Vice-Chair’s Report

I am excited to share that the next IGR forum Agenda will be including a short 10-minute IGR/ Alt IGR orientation at the beginning of the forum going forward.  This should allow new IGRs and Alt IGRs to feel more comfortable as they begin their role as the link in the chain between their AA Group and OIAA.

October’s Agenda will spotlight the Steppers Committee and PAC (Policies and Admissions).  We can also look forward to two additional presentations, “How do IGRs service their group” by Beth D, Into Action Group and “How does your group work with newcomers?” By Jacque T, from the Early Riser Group.

The IGR forum will include an “Ask Basket” please send your questions to igrworkshop@aa-intergroup.org.

I also had the opportunity to spend time with the Unity Committee and Communications Committee since we last met.  Their work is in progress, and you can look forward to upcoming events and work products.  I also visited the Finance Committee and was able to learn about the process and intensive work that takes place annually to bring a budget before the assembly.

As the Ad-Hoc Guidelines Committee work comes to fruition, I want to thank the committee for allowing me to participate and all their hard work.  You will see their work products in the coming months.

I also had the opportunity to attend the NAATW conference online last weekend.  What a great opportunity to better understand some of the solutions provided in the world of technology to support our ongoing sober online journey.

It’s been a very busy first quarter as your Vice-Chair.  I still am learning as I go along.  I just want to express my gratitude for being provided with the opportunity to serve as your Vice-Chair.  I truly believe it’s a “WE DEAL”, so thank you for all you do!

In Loving Service,

Nona C.  OIAA Vice-Chair
