Subject: Request for Unbudgeted Funds to Support a Whistleblower Investigation

Dear OIAA Members,
In accordance with the OIAA Whistleblower Policy and New Jersey whistleblower laws (CEPA), the Board of Trustees has initiated a formal investigation into concerns submitted in good faith by members of our organization. On August 10, 2025, the board designated Beth A., OIAA International Trustee as the Whistleblower investigator.
To ensure a fair, confidential, and legally sound process, we are requesting your approval to allocate unbudgeted funds for legal counsel. This will allow a qualified attorney to analyze the evidence and advise the Board on appropriate next steps, without bias or conflict of interest. The board is requesting the unbudgeted amount of $3,540.00 to cover these costs.
This action:
- Supports our duty to conduct an impartial and credible investigation.
- Aligns with Article V.04(c) of our Whistleblower Policy.
- Helps protect the integrity and tax-exempt status of OIAA.
We are committed to transparency while also respecting strict confidentiality obligations. The attached Whistleblower Policy and Investigation Process Summary detail the protections in place for all involved. No personal details or evidence will be shared publicly, as required by our policy and law. An additional Q&A document is also available. We appreciate your trust and support.
