Unity Committee Chair Report – April 2026

An overview of the month:

  • Unity Committee Officers
    1. The Convention Chair, Unity Liaison coordinator and Marketing & Communications lead roles are currently vacant and we continue to scout for potential candidates.

 

  1. Unity Convention Budget – 
    1. Received 20% deposit invoice for Tech12 services.

 

  • OIAA2026 Online International Convention
    1. Dates are confirmed as 20 – 22 November 2026
    2. The Host Group registration went live on 13 April 2026 and we had 15 registrations at the time of posting this report.
    3. Convention sub-committee working to recruit Groups and begin placing them on the schedule.
    4. Marketing & Communications – new logo development for Unity & Convention was developed to create consistency and a recognisable logo. 

 

  • Unity Liaison sub-committee
    1. The Liaison committee agreed on best practices for outreach to online Groups from the OIAA Directory
    2. New IGR Workshops was trialed and feedback was received and implemented – we are working in collaboration with IGR Steppers to support new and experienced IGRs
    3. An ‘At a Glance’ IGR Guide has been developed and will be distributed with the Registrar’s welcome email, Unity Liaison work and as a ‘take away’ from the IGR Workshops

 

Objectives for the next month

  1. Continue to build a stable, active and consistent membership for the Unity Committee to allow us to fulfil the Charter.

 

  1. OIAA2026 Online International Convention
    1. Start to plan Individual registration and marketing & communications timeline
    2. Sub-committee working to recruit Groups and begin placing them on the schedule.
    3. Look to recruit Marketing & Communication volunteer Lead.
    4. Look to recruit Unity Liaison coordinator

 

  1. Unity Liaison work
    1. Committee to be given all the tools and resources needed to go out and visit OIAA member groups.  A simple and informative approach.  This will be shared at the next meeting (2pm ET, 17 May 2026)
    2. Recruitment of Unity Liaison Region Reps and Country Liaison Reps – continued progress.
    3. IGR workshops launch on 3rd Sunday of the month at 12.30p ET (17 May 2026)

  • Continue to cultivate cross-committee collaboration
