Unity Committee Chair Report – March 2026

An overview of the month:

  • Unity Committee Officers
      1. The Convention Chair and Unity Secretary roles are currently vacant and I continue to scout for potential candidates.
    2. Unity Convention Budget review – 
      1. The revised OIAA2026 budget, and request for additional funds for Unity, was presented to the Board and, subsequently, the Assembly, and members unanimously approved the proposal.
  • Unity – General 
      1. IGR Steppers – working in collaboration with the newly formed PAC sub-committee, IGR Steppers, to welcome and equip new and experienced IGRs and  Groups
  • OIAA2026 Online International Convention
      1. Dates are confirmed as 20 – 22 November 2026
      2. The Host Group registration process is in development and is scheduled to open 13 April.
      3. Met with the Tech team to work through the registration form and accessibility on the website and email.
      4. The convention schedule has been confirmed with the team ensuring that there is a wide range of sessions available for Host Groups to consider.
      5. Marketing & Communications – new logo development for Unity & Convention was developed to create consistency and a recognisable logo. 
  • Unity Liaison sub-committee
    1. The Liaison committee are working on best practices for outreach to Groups 
    2. New IGR Workshops in development and working in collaboration with IGR Steppers to support new and experienced IGRs

Objectives for the next month

    1. Continue to build a stable, active and consistent membership for the Unity Committee to allow us to fulfil the Charter.
    2. OIAA2026 Online International Convention following budget approval at Assembly.
      1. Sub-committee working to recruit Groups and begin placing them on the schedule.
      2. Look to recruit Marketing & Communication volunteer Lead.
    3. Unity Liaison work
      1. Set a timeline for Planning and coordination of short term strategy to engage with OIAA member groups.
      2. Recruitment of Unity Liaison Region Reps and Country Liaison Reps – continued progress.
      3. Development of New IGR workshops (collaboration with IGR Steppers)
    4. Recruitment of Unity Committee Officers

      2. Unity Committee Secretary
      3. Marketing & Communications Lead (OIAA2026)
  • Continue to cultivate cross-committee collaboration
