Policy & Admissions Committee (PAC) Report August 2026
What We Do:
The Policy & Admissions Committee (PAC) assists new groups in registering and listing their A.A. meetings on the OIAA meeting directory. Our responsibilities include:
- Reviewing new meeting submission forms for completeness and compliance with meeting directory listing guidelines.
- Ensuring that new meetings/groups retain a Traditions statement.
- Assisting new member groups in listing their Intergroup representatives at the time of registration.
- Helping meetings/groups regain their status for relisting in the OIAA meeting directory or as Intergroup representatives if they have lapsed.
- Addressing complaints and answering questions regarding meetings/groups listed in the OIAA meeting directory.
- Providing policy and guideline advisories to any interested parties.
What we did: Committee actions from August 1 to August 31, 2026:
- New meeting submission forms reviewed: 79
- International meeting submission forms reviewed: 1
- New meeting submission forms processed to listed completion: 22 (28%)
- Meetings listed with an IGR: 4
- Outstanding – waiting for reply: 30
- Requested Removal: 0
- Decided Not to List: 1
- Declined listings: 4
- Duplicates/Not a Listing/Update/Hold/Spam: 8
- Sent to Steppers: 0

The PAC Committee continues to function very effectively. Several of our members were on vacation during August, but the replies to groups wanted to be listed on the OIAA Meeting Directory continue to go out. This month we received a record number of new requests (77) with 28% of those groups actually providing all of the required information so that they could be added to our meeting directory.
We continue to receive requests to add Spanish speaking meetings to our meeting directory but most of the time we do not know what country these meetings are coming from. We did, however, register a meeting from India which is being conducted in the Bangla language, which we have never listed before. We are excited that the OIAA Tech Team is able to list meetings in so many different languages.
There has been not additional progress on updating the New Group Form, primarily due to so many people taking vacations this month. We look forward to moving forward with this project which is intended to make the New Group Form as user-friendly as possible
Our IGR Steppers are continuing to meet one-on-one with new IGRs and Alternate IGRs and the response has been positive. Any IGRs or Alternates who have questions about how OIAA functions, or how to navigate our website are welcome to contact the IGR Steppers at igrsteppers@aa-intergroup.org .
