Update for CPC – Agenda 1-Mar 2026

OIAA CPC Committee Meeting Agenda

Sunday, March 1, 2026 — 12:00 PM ET (60 minutes)

Facilitator: Leila (pending board vote to Chair role) | Secretary: Naterena

Opening and Connection (10 min)

Serenity Prayer.

Chair transition update: current status of the board vote and any immediate OIAA requirements or deadlines that affect CPC.

Brief introductions for anyone new or returning, share your name and in one sentence, what drew you to CPC.

Result: Everyone knows who’s in the room and why we’re here.

How We Want to Work Together (10 min)

Proposed shift from the previous model (assign projects, report back) to a new one: meetings are working sessions where we build things together, in real time.

Proposed operating norms:

  • Meetings are collaborative working sessions (doing committee work together) rather than reporting updates.
  • Between meetings: small, specific tasks only when needed.
  • Shared templates and simple tools to keep the load manageable.
  • Staying on track with timeboxing and clear agendas.
  • Quick wins, starting small, manageable/feasible project load, creating one quick win at a time

The goal is to make this sustainable for busy people so that committee members do not need to attend extra meetings or carry an unrealistic workload, and we can make continuous progress together as a group toward helping professionals to understand what AA is and how it may help their patients/clients to achieve recovery from alcoholism.

Result: Agreement on how we operate going forward.

Charter Review (15 min)

Review the proposed revised charter reflecting the working-sessions model and our smaller team. Finalize (editing together if changes are needed) and approve.

Result: Approved Charter

Our First Project: “Ask CPC” Email Service (20 min)

Naterena has proposed that our first project be building an “Ask CPC” email service (suggested by Susan) that is modeled on the Steppers service, where professionals can email questions about AA and committee members respond.

What it is: We respond to professionals by connecting them to AA resources, using templates we create together that are grounded in the CPC workbook.

What it isn’t: Counseling, 12th-step work, or extended back-and-forth.

Discussion (to be started in this meeting, and continued next month):

  • What would this look like in practice? How does the Steppers model work, and what can we learn from it?
  • What do we need to build before going live? (email setup, response templates, a simple onboarding process for new responders, quality guidelines)
  • How do multiple people respond without stepping on each other? (The Steppers model: everyone can respond; multiple perspectives are a feature, not a problem.)
  • What’s a realistic timeline for going live?

The plan: our next several meetings will be working sessions where we build this together, including request (e.g. shared inbox?), intake process, templates, training, so no one has to figure it out alone.

Result: Consensus on the project, its scope and boundaries at a high level, and a rough roadmap for the next few meetings.

Housekeeping (5 min)

  • Budget
  • Communication
  • Quick recap of decisions made
  • Next meeting

Output: Clear next steps

Close  with the Responsibility Statement

“I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that: I am responsible.”
