The Chair opened the meeting at 2:00pm (US ET) asking members to join in the We version of the Serenity Prayer. She then introduced Board members.

Lesliee A presented and moved to accept the minutes from the 26-03-21; No 2nd recorded. Discussion. Vote: 53 Yes, 0 no, 1 abstention. 

Treasurer Report: Presented a financial report showing the organization had received $58,213 in contributions against a budget of $59,000, with operating expenses running under budget and a surplus of $41,000, leaving $194,000 in the bank. 

Committee Reports

Unity committee: Announced an upcoming IGR workshop on June 21st and provided updates on the 2026 OIAA Convention planning, noting that group registrations are oversubscribed. The committee is seeking volunteers for various service roles, including a creatives and communication coordinator, unity liaison coordinator, convention admin support, and convention tech team members. Continues to develop the Unity Liaison program and to finalize the schedule for the November 20-22, 2026 OIAA Online Convention. Technology Committee: Reported that the OIAA website receives 40,000-50,000 daily visitors, with 90% using the meeting directory. He explained the committee’s structure with 5 main subcommittees: Cloud Admin, Member Directory, Tech steppers. Web Services, and Zoom Events Crew, which are always recruiting new members especially for the Meeting Directory. Communications Committee: Is always looking for new members and has a new Chair who is in the process of creating a survey to assess OIAA committee needs. Public Information (PI): Handles 50-100 requests monthly to provide information about AA meetings and resources worldwide. Is always looking for new members to handle increasing requests for information. The Steppers committee: Recruits members with at least one year of sobriety (and an orientation) to answers emails for help from still suffering alcoholics around the world. Policies and Admissions (PAC): Explained that the committee’s role is managing the OIAA meeting directory, which currently lists over 10,000 meetings. The committee handles requests from new groups to be added to the directory, responding within 24-48 hours and providing support in multiple languages. Ad Hoc Convention Committee: Creates a cybersuite for the every-5-year International GSO Convention. In 2025 at the 2025 Vancouver convention where they welcomed 504 visitors and distributed approximately 1,800 OIAA pins.
